Week 3 Fantasy Basketball Circle Of Trust

Kings PF Skal Labissiere

3 games this week on the road with the Pacers, Celtics, and Pistons.  Labissiere is shooting 100% from the charity stripe this season, 50% from the floor, and 40% from the 3-pt line. Labissierre comes off the bench and sees 22.8 MPG.  Daily owners may want to use Labissiere this week to get help with shooting percentages from a big. Owned in just 11% of fantasy basketball leagues.

Suns PG Tyler Ulis

A 4-game slate this week all on the road with the Nets, Wizards, Knicks, and Spurs. Ulis is still playing behind Mike James, but has been the better performer. Will help owners with 4.3 APG and 2.3SPG in last 7 days. Be aware his 14% from downtown won’t help owners.  2 gravy matchups this week makes Ulis lineup worthy. Owned in 4 percent of fantasy basketball leagues.

Sixers PG TJ McConnell

3-games on the docket, on the road with the Rockets then home matchups vs. the Hawks and Pacers.  Last 7 days stats of 7.3 APG and 2.7 SPG should only improve with Markelle Fultz out indefinitely.  McConnell shoots 48% from the floor, but only 33% at the 3-pt line.  McConnell is owned in just 6% of fantasy basketball leagues.

Be Provactive On Westbrook

I am always looking to maximize the talent on my fantasy teams. My bench spots are held for value or upside. Sounds simple, but what is on my bench can’t be used to defeat me.  I’m having trouble filling out my last WR spots on all 5 of my teams. Jaguars WR Dede Westbrook is a player I have picked up in advance of his Week 9 return for all of my teams.

Westbrook started the year on IR with a core muscle injury suffered in the meaningless final preseason game.  The Heisman finalist didn’t bust out until his senior season at Oklahoma to the tune of 80 receptions, 1,524 yards and 17 touchdowns.  This preseason Westbrook looked good with 13 catches for 288 yards and 2 scores.  Granted, Preseason stats can be misleading based off what stringers played against.  His 6 ft 178 lb frame along with character concerns are a few of the reasons Westbrook slid to the 4th round.

As a fantasy player, I’m looking for opportunity.  Head Coach Doug Marrone has used a strong defense and running game to get the Jaguars to a 4-3 at the time of this post.  The Jaguars receiving corps leaves a lot to be desired.  Marquise Lee and Allen Hurns have combined for 50 catches 708 yards and 2 TD.  At some point teams will force the Jaguars to have to win a game throwing the ball.  I often look at matchups for teams coming off the bye. Teams get a chance to self evaluate and then get ready for the upcoming opponent.

With 2 weeks to get Westbrook up to speed, don’t be surprised if he’s a popular name after Week 9.  The Biletnikoff winner showed enough in the preseason and the opportunity is there.  If you have the roster space, I strongly recommend cutting some dead weight to stash Westbrook.

Week 8 Fantasy Football Circle Of Trust

Falcons QB Matt Ryan

A road matchup with the Jets. Matty Ice has thrown just 1 TD in 5 of 6 games this season. The Jets are tied with the Patriots for most TD passes allowed with 15.  Ryan bounces back this week.

Jets RB Matt Forte

Has 13 catches combined in the last 2 weeks. Forte leads the Jets running backs in snaps the last 2 weeks. The finally healthy Forte is worthy of a flex play. Playing him over Rob Kelley in one of my leagues.

Redskins WR Josh Doctson

Played a career high 54 snaps last week as head coach Jay Gruden talked about wanting to see what Doctson can do.  Blown coverage is a regular occurrence in the Dallas secondary. Doctson is an emerging player. Playing him over Will Fuller IV in one of my leagues.

Bengals TE Tyler Kroft

Home with the hapless Colts. Kroft is tied for the team lead in red zone looks the last 3 weeks.

Bills K Steven Hauschka

Has made 3 or more field goals in 4 straight contests.

Bengals Defense

Home with the Colts. Defensive strategy is to find a team playing the Browns, Colts, or Bears each week.

Panthers LB Shaq Thompson

With Luke Kuechly and Thomas Davis banged up, Shaq has made more plays in the scheme.

Week 2 Fantasy Basketball Circle Of Trust

Nuggets PG/SG Jamal Murray

4-game week with a home matchup against the Wizards followed by 3 on the road against the Hornets, Hawks, and Nets. Murray hasn’t set the world on fire thru just 2 games of the season. Emmanuel Mudiay is a threat to playing time, but I still believe Murray is the top choice to run the Nuggets up-tempo offense. Murray is available in nearly 55% of fantasy basketball leagues.

Heat PF/C Kelly Olynyk

3 games this week all at home with the Spurs, Hawks, and Celtics. Olynyk is a big that can help supplement your shooting percentages, but lacks the defensive stats that are needed.  I’ve used him in daily leagues where I needed to bring up my shooting.  Olynyk is available in about 85% of fantasy basketball leagues.

Bulls PF Lauri Markkanen

3 games this week one on the road with the Cavs and a pair of home games vs. the Hawks and Thunder. Markkanen should get plenty of shots this week with Portis and Mirotic out of commission. Markkanen is owned in around 20% of fantasy basketball leagues.

Week 7 Fantasy Football Circle Of Trust

Bills QB Tyrod Taylor

The Bucs defense has allowed the 2nd most fantasy points to quarterbacks.

Owners that lost Aaron Rodgers could stream Tyrod for this week.

Falcons RB Tevin Coleman

Home with the Patriots defense in what I anticipate as a shootout. The Patriots have allowed the 2nd most catches and yards to running backs. Coleman should be in your lineups.

Eagles WR Nelson Agholor

Monday night home matchup with the Redskins. Agholor was flourished with the move to the Slot. Agholor has scored in back-to-back games. Solid WR3 or flex play.

Redskins TE Jordan Reed

I anticipate Reed to be a serious threat vs. the Eagles defense. No more decoy routes. Reed Scores 1st TD of the season.

Titans K Ryan Succop

Should be able to do some damage vs. the Browns.

Panthers Defense

On the road vs. the offensively challenged Bears. Panthers may give up some points, but should force Mr. Biscuit into some turnovers.

Browns LB Joe Schobert

4 games with 8 or more total tackles. Should see plenty of tackle opportunities vs. the Titans.

Week 1 Fantasy Basketball Circle Of Trust

Pacers SF/PF Thaddeus Young

3-game week at home with the Nets, and Blazers followed by a road tilt with the Heat. Young is a horrible free throw shooter, but helps with scoring, boards, and steals. I own Young in Weekly Points league.  Available in nearly 70% of fantasy basketball leagues his ownership is too low. The rebuilding Pacers will rely more on Young this season than fantasy players realize.

Jazz SG Rodney Hood

3-game week home against the Nuggets, Wolves on road, then back home vs. the Thunder. Hood is owned in only 7 percent of fantasy basketball leagues at the time of this post. Huge opportunity is there to become Jazz leading scorer this season. I was surprised Hood only cost me $1 at the draft.

Hawks SF Taurean Prince

3 games all on the road with the Mavericks, Hornets, and Nets. Owned in around 2% of fantasy basketball leagues. Prince is a 3 and D type player on a rebuilding Hawks squad. Daily fantasy owners may want to slide Prince into their lineups this week.

Week 6 Fantasy Football Circle Of Trust

Lions QB Matthew Stafford

Throws for 300 yards vs. the Saints on the road. The Saints have allowed a 101.2 opponents passer rating.

Saints RB Alvin Kamara

Lions defense allows just 74.6 rushing yards per game. Kamara helped make Adrian Peterson expendable. Kamara is a must start going forward.

Bonus

Patriots RB Mike Gillislee

Faces the Jets on the road in a great matchup. The Jets allow 102.6 yards per-game on the ground. Gillislee is a non-factor in the passing game, but should be bounce back this week.

Redskins WR Terrelle Pryor Sr.

Coming off the bye at home with the Redskins. I anticipate Pryor being significantly more involved coming off the bye. The window to buy low closes today.

Bears TE Zach Miller

Tough road matchup with the Ravens. Miller looks to be Mitch Trubisky’s top target this week.

Packers K Mason Crosby

Great kicker, not worried about missed extra points last week.

Texans Defense

Highly doubtful they give up 42 points to the Browns at home. Cleveland with Kevin Hogan at the helm shouldn’t present much of a threat.

Bears DE Akiem Hicks

High motor player that will get some hits on Joe Flacco.

Fantasy Baseball Bombs

This list of players consists of early and middle round picks that blew a hole in your roster.  There’s a variety of reasons these players under-performed be it injuries, age, diminished skills.  In some cases it ends up being all three.   Just because these players didn’t perform in 2017 doesn’t mean to completely avoid all of them in 2018.  Each player is a case by case scenario.  *Some of these players I plan to target in 2018 because their value in drafts will be cheaper*.

Week 5 Fantasy Football Circle Of Trust

Texans QB Deshaun Watson
Tough home matchup with the Chiefs, but has turned into a weekly play. Watson is Learning to Fly sooner than I expected.

Vikings RB Latavius Murray
I anticipate Murray to Break Into the Great Wide Open of the Bears defense. Chicago has allowed 4 Rushing TD.

Dolphins WR DeVante Parker
The Waiting on Parker has been the hardest part for fantasy owners. The Titans have allowed 11 TD thru the air this season. Parker finds the end zone this week.

Jets TE Austin Seferian-Jenkins
Running Down A Dream matchup with the Browns. Cleveland has allowed the 2nd most fantasy points to opposing TE.

Bonus
Chargers TE Hunter Henry
I Won’t Back Down on Henry despite 2 goose eggs. The Giants have allowed the most TD and second most yards to opposing tight ends.

Eagles K Jake Elliott
You Got Lucky with the 61 yarder last week. I anticipate Eagles to be able to move ball against Cardinals, but struggle to get into the end zone.

Eagles Defense
Cardinals QB Carson Palmer has taken the most sacks in the NFL and Palmer looks to be near the End Of The Line.

Raiders LB Cory James
With 22 total tackles combined in the last 2 games, James is telling opponents Don’t Come Around Here No More.

2017 Fantasy Baseball Waiver Wire Wonders

These are players that were more than likely waiver wire pickups. Each one of these players far surpassed their acquisition cost and helped win a lot of fantasy baseball games this season. I won 2 league championships with the help of quite a few of these players. There were so many breakout players this season, it’s tough to pare them all down. Feel free to comment on the ones I missed.
